The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key strategic imperative for organizations looking to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and gain competitive advantage.
With this in mind, PhD graduates from Nobel International Business School (NiBS) are being called upon to leverage AI to transform business operations.
Speaking as special guest at the graduation ceremony, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Yofi Grant, stressed that in today's rapidly evolving business environment, leveraging AI technology to revolutionise business ecosystems is the surest way to stay competitive and gain an edge over the competition.
“As companies across all industries come under increasing pressure to adapt to digital transformation, our PhD graduates are uniquely positioned to drive that change through the intelligent deployment of AI solutions. By harnessing the power of AI to automate routine tasks, analyze vast amounts of data and derive valuable insights, businesses can unlock new opportunities for growth and optimization,” he said.
Citing the examples of China and Japan, he said: “If you visit these countries today, you see things like fuel efficiency in the transport sector, electric cars, bullet trains, robots in factories, so in business you get faster, more efficient and more convenient deliveries. But that also has its downsides. So highly educated people like the ones we see today are well placed to harness these technologies for the benefit of society.”
Grant further noted that while national policy is not currently leaning towards AI, academics should strive to develop business cases that will influence policy in the near future.
Founder and Dean of NiBS, Professor Kwaku Atuahene Gyimah, called on the graduates to make a difference in the profession by sharing what they have learnt.
He emphasised that PhD graduates have a unique blend of business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit that makes them ideal catalysts to drive AI-led transformation within organisations.
“You are all poised to make great strides in your respective industries thanks to your extensive education and research experience. NiBS is proud of your achievements and believes that you will play a leading role in creating a better future for the business environment,” he said.
The NiBS doctoral graduation ceremony saw 52 outstanding students who received degrees such as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Business Leadership (DBL) officially join the ranks of academic greats.
