New Delhi, July 19: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday called on various heads of security and law enforcement agencies to leverage analytics and technological advancements powered by big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to dismantle the terror ecosystem.
Home Minister Shah on Friday chaired a high-level meeting with various heads of security and law enforcement agencies in New Delhi to review the functioning of the Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), which is tasked with tackling security challenges in the country, and emphasised on constituting a team of young, technologically skilled and passionate personnel drawn from all agencies involved in national security to leverage big data and AI and ML driven analytics and technological advancements to dismantle the terror ecosystem.
He directed the various heads of security agencies and other intelligence and enforcement agencies across the country to ensure a whole-of-government approach to national security.
The Interior Minister stressed the need to enhance synergy among all agencies to dismantle terrorist organisations and their support structures to address the evolving security threat scenario in the country.
Reviewing the overall security situation in the country and the fight against terrorism, he appealed to all participants to intensify their engagement in the MAC and make it a cohesive platform bringing together all law enforcement, counter-narcotics, cybersecurity and intelligence agencies for decisive and swift action.
Shah emphasised that MAC has earned the trust of its constituents and must continue to operate 24/7 as a platform for proactive and real-time sharing of actionable information among various stakeholders, including last-mile responders. He reiterated that in the face of new security challenges, we must always remain one step ahead in our response.
The Home Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MAC framework is poised to undergo significant technical and operational reforms to enhance its scope and effectiveness.
He urged all stakeholders to further strengthen these efforts through prompt response and active follow-up on the information shared.
