Pronto description
Pronto, a startup founded by 23-year-old Anjali Saldhana, responded to criticism by saying its experts do not record anything without the explicit permission of their clients.
Pronto also said that if a customer chooses to opt out of the AI training program, experts will not bring cameras into their home. The company further said that this practice is fully compliant with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) and that its competitors also record inside customers’ homes.

In a post shared on X, the Bangalore-based startup wrote:
“Opt-in is not just one-time, it must be confirmed before each booking. By default, cameras are not used, and even when they are, they cannot be missed. The pilot reached 0.1% of our customers, and we have spent months ensuring full DPDP compliance. And we are not the only company in this space to do this,” the company explained.
